Lle Llais Research Report Launched at Learning Well Event

On Thursday 12 March 2026, our Lle Llais research report was launched at the Learning Well — Trauma and ACE-Informed Education in Wales event, hosted to advance Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (TrACE)-informed education across Wales.

The event brought together educators, researchers and practitioners to explore how schools can better respond to the needs of children who have experienced adversity. Central to this was a focus on amplifying children’s own voices — sharing their vision of what TrACE-informed practice looks and feels like within educational settings.
About the Project
Led by Professor Alec Shepley, the Lle Llais project — funded by ACE Hub Wales — adopted a trauma-informed approach to supporting children through arts and nature-based activities. Working with communities across Anglesey, the project created safe, expressive spaces where children could articulate their experiences of place, identity and belonging.
Our research demonstrates how this work benefits social and cultural wellbeing, and provides valuable insights into how children perceive and experience belonging in their communities.
